The Restaurants You Don’t Want to Miss in Koreatown (L.A.)

Openaire restaurant space at The LINE hotel

from The LINE Hotel

“Kayyy -Towwwn is a hell of a town….”

Below is just a sampling of the spots we tried. Koreatown has many, exciting and delicious restaurants to experience .

3600 W 6th St.

If you are craving a burger this is the place for you!

According to David Chang by way of EATER , this spot belongs on The World’s 50 Best restaurants. We would have to agree. Their meat is flown on from a farm in Colorado which is one of the many reasons Cassell’s is special. Everything is top-notch but we suggest their Patty Melts, Tuna Melts, and breakfast is a welcome surprise.

516 Western Ave.

Burgers for everyone!

If you are vegan or just vegan adjacent, Monty’s has incredible burgers. The “cheese” is some of the best we’ve tried and the tater tots are out of this world. They also have fairly addicting lemonades. Everything is fresh and organic and it shows!

EMC

3500 W 6th St.

We LOVE the menu at EMC.

They have small and large plates to share. The garlic noodles with shrimp, fish tacos, and salmon are standouts. Our absolute favorite? The oysters! They’re just one dollar per oyster during happy hour. Washed down with one of their IPA’s there is nothing better.

HONEY PIG

3400 W 8th St.

It is festive at Honey Pig.

Usually, you will find large groups seemingly having the time of their lives. Known for their unique dome shaped grills, pork belly, and their revelatory kimchi fried rice. Get there early before the long lines. Though the wait is worth it.

3905 W 6th St

Just opened in 2022, Kinn is the new kid on the block and next for us to check out!

We had a chance to peek in and loved the warm and modern feel of the intimate space. They are getting buzz for their sublime tasting menu and beautiful, distinctive plating. This would be just the place to take that special someone.

3515 Wilshire Blvd. 2nd Fl.

This showstopper is located in a greenhouse on the rooftop in the LINE Hotel. Manned by two Michelin-starred chef Josiah Citrin, the menu is eclectic, creative and delish! Out favorite time to go is for lunch or brunch so you take in the carefully tended lush greenery and the sun. Not to be missed!

Le Comptoir

Plate of food Le Comptoir

3606 West Sixth St

If you want an elevated, memorable experience, this is the place. Michelin starred Gary Menes, an alum of the famed French Laundry, is the chef en place. The restaurant seats ten at the beautiful wood bar that faces the kitchen. The prix fixe menu is vegetable-driven, with some of the produce coming from their own garden in Long Beach, CA.

3901 W 6th St

Fans in the know call this spot H-Lay for short.

They sadly closed during the pandemic but have reopened to much fanfare after a successful GoFund Me. H Lay has a clever, inventive menu - Salt and pepper frog's legs with salsa negra, anyone? The food delicious, the space charming and cozy - it has it all.

Parks BBQ

Parks BBQ

955 S Vermont Ave

Out of all the bbq we have tried in Koreatown, Park’s is the blueprint!

The hall is lined with photos of all the celebrities that have passed through including the greatly missed Anthony Bourdain. They have the most plentiful, tasty, banchan and they are especially renowned for their marinated galbi. To us, it is the best in town.
